That old cliché about 1,000 words? A perpetual short change what a photograph can represent. The same can be said for an “About” page where we try to capture enough of ourselves to inform, introduce, and invite visitors to learn a little more. Yet here we are and hopefully a few words will do. 

A few have followed me as labels most of life. I am an immigrant, growing up in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. I am a New Yorker, embracing whole-heartedly a love of Brooklyn and the city when I joined my mother there. I am a husband and father knowing too well fleeting nature of a moment and the spark of a memory.I am a veteran, serving in the US Air Force for several years. I am colorblind, which challenged that opportunity and pushes me in my art today.

With each label and its challenge and opportunity it created, it has been in my art where the story has evolved. Each step led me to more deeply explore lines, angles, depth, finding a deep love for black and white photography along the way, creating an equalized viewing experience. It also built in me a deeper appreciation for the play of color and the vibrance and tone that can be different for each who views a color in their own way. 

So I proudly own the label of photographer.  And my story is secondary to the ones in front of my lens, but ever influencing the framing.  I am inspired by the world before and around me - by the human, the real, the natural, the play of light - and I am honored to bring this framing to you.
